Potter's House

 Potter's House

Warm greetings from Shalom. We are happy to share with you the School’s new initiative which is Potter’s House launched in September’14 and its progress.
“Potter’s House” is a place where the child is being shaped and fashioned the way he/she is designed for. The word “Potter” denotes a teacher who shapes the child and the wheel represents the complexity of the subject or the very subject itself.  The clay stands for the child for whom the whole programme is designed and meant for.

The Potter’s House consists of different schools to accommodate children for exceptional care and support and whose potential for improvement in each subject is identified. The schools are named after veterans of respective subjects to motivate the children who attempt to identify themselves with these great names. Every child has a scope for improvement in different areas. Maintaining the same level of understanding, retention and stretching them a little more; and bringing them to the required/ expected level has been a challenge which is addressed and proved effective by Potter’s house
The names of different schools will be tempting the child as well as the subject teacher to plunge deep into the respective subjects and come out with amazing results. The concept of “School” used here is, as a place where a particular subject is taught. The place where Malayalam is taught is named after “Thunchaththu Ezhuthachan” i.e., “Thunchaththu Ezhuthachan School”. English as “William Shakespeare School”; Science as “Albert Einstein  School”; Mathematics as “ Srinivasa Ramanujan School”; Hindi as “TULSIDAS School”, etc..

Potter’s House is conducted everyday in the first hour when the minds of the children are fresh. In addition to the regular teaching staff, we get services of adjunct faculty exclusively for the Potter’s house. The Progress of the students is assessed every week and based on the progress/ improvement students are sent to different schools.
This programme has been successfully run in the school since Sept’14 and shown tremendous improvement. The studies conducted during these four months have shown that learning and teaching has become a stigma free and stress less or less stress activity. An opportunity to identify themselves with those top-notch names proliferates confidence and enthusiasm among the children.
Sustainable and steady changes show the way to greater results.

Join us to support the kids to fashion them the way they are designed for and to be…. Practitioner

Socially Useful & Productive Action (SUPA)

Socially Useful & Productive Action SUPA

To introduce the students to the fellow citizens of our country who are less fortunate or unfortunate and live away from the main stream due to their poverty and illiteracy, we have SUPA Group.

The members of SUPA regularly visit nearby slums and tribal colonies under the supervision of two of our teachers and conducts survey, educate them on hygiene, consequences of using tobacco and drugs etc. Also the students raise funds to supply study material to the students of these colonies and to build bathrooms and toilets. SUPA helps planting seedling of compassion and concern for the poor in the heart of the students.
